Easy and effective skincare with MZ Skin

A good skincare regime is a fundamental ritual that everyone should create for themselves. Our skin acts as a barrier and protects us from free radicals, pollution and all the other nasties that are whizzing around in this world. It is therefore important to return the favour by protecting and nourishing it.

Protection comes in two forms. The first is dressing it in materials that are kind to your skin, such as cotton, cashmere, wool, silk and linen (remember to be kind to others and dress in ethical and sustainable fashion). The other is to have a good skincare regime, which also must be sustainable. Sustainable for the planet and your lifestyle. A skincare regime that is not sustainable will make you very tired. Physically and mentally. Which leads me to my next point…

‘Best products for tired eyes and ageing skin’ is one of the most commonly searched cosmetic questions submitted to Google. ‘Quick and easy skincare routine’ is another. Combine these two questions with the well-documented fact of the cosmetic industry contributing to over £30 billion to the UK economy, and what does it tell us? Well, it confirms that we as individuals are willing to spend the money on skincare but not the time on the actual regime. This makes me wonder if in the fast world that we live in, people simply do not have time to do the fundamentals, like cleansing and moisturising, that parents have been teaching their children for generations, or because over time people have bought into the unrealistic (and unnecessary) ’10-step skincare routine’. I suspect it is the latter.

As I am approaching my 30s, I am in the market age bracket for ‘anti-ageing’ products. I use quotation marks because it is such an old-hat term. I am not against ageing; I am for growing older gracefully. ‘How to grow old gracefully’ is probably not googled as much as the previously mentioned. If it was, I would not be surprised if Dr Maryam Zamani, Oculoplastic Surgeon, Facial Aesthetics Doctor and creator and founder of MZ Skin appeared top of the list. She is [in my once tired looking eyes] the best doctor for skin rejuvenation. Dr Zamani created MZ Skin to reveal, enhance and protect the skin after being inspired by the women she treats at her London clinic. She also saw a gap in the market for a high-performing and cutting-edge technology skincare range.

Returning to the sought-after quick skincare regime, tired eyes and my approaching 30’s…

Over the last year, whilst working a full-time job in London and simultaneously completing a law degree, I noticed that my eyes were puffy, dark and hollow and my skin was more pigmented than normal. Yes, I was probably lacking sleep (which is also super important) but due to my busy lifestyle, which involves late nights at university and spending weekdays away from home, I couldn’t keep up with my usual skincare regime.

Luckily, since studying law, I have already learnt invaluable skills that I can apply to other areas of life. My skincare regime is one of them.

Here’s how I did it…

Firstly, I identified the problem.

1. Tired skin and puffy, dark eyes.

2. Too many products (too tired to apply and no desire to literally carry a small chemist in my handbag).

Secondly, I found a solution and mitigated the risk of future skin predicaments. I am not a skin expert, but I know Dr Zamani is, so after visiting mzskin.com and taking the MZ SKINTELLIGENCE test, an advanced virtual skincare advisor that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to offer personalised product recommendations I learnt that to improve my skin quality I needed three products. Just three!

An affective skincare regime is essential for maintaining youthful and glowing skin. However, whilst the overall appearance plays an incredibly important factor to a person’s confidence and happiness, at the core, healthy skin should be the number one goal of every skincare brand. I have chosen MZ Skin to help reveal, enhance and protect my skin for two reasons. The simplicity of having only three core products. More importantly, because MZ Skin was created by an expert facial aesthetics doctor and surgeon whose goal is to reveal, enhance and protect.

Listen to how Dr Zamani created MZ Skin in her bathroom and turned it into a luxury brand on #NoFilter ‘Skincare and Surgery podcast

During the episode Dr Zamani also talks about what it’s like to be a surgeon and doctor and explains how she juggles her surgical practice and MZ skin whilst maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
